We love our planet Earth and acknowledge that sadly, we are currently experiencing a climate emergency. As a business we want to do all that we can to support sustainability and draw down carbon emissions.

We work hard to embed this value across all that we do. Sustainability to us is not a marketing term or a token thing we say while concurrently selling products sold in large amounts of plastic that can go in the recycling bin. We evaluate all of our decision making against the potential environmental impact and do what we can to care for our planet. Here are some of the ways we show our commitment to sustainability.

  • Product packaging is not made from plastic wherever we possibly can, while plastic can be down-cycled it is produced from fossil fuels. Instead we favour materials such as aluminium, glass, silicone, clay and wood. Aluminium especially is infinitely recyclable. While you are able to recycle your product packaging, we highly recommend repurposing your mask jar and lid if able as the recycling process utilises a lot of resources and products made from recycled material are generally lower quality, down-cycled products. We endeavour to share ideas on ways in which you can repurpose your jars.  We understand the manufacturing around sustainable products has yet to fully catch up to the demand. Unfortunately all sustainable products are quite expensive and inaccessible to smaller businesses with lower runs. We make decisions weighing up the total environmental impact of our products and always aim to continually improve.

  • Shipping packaging is made from 100% recycled post consumer paper and is able to be composted at home. Tear your box up and add it to your worm farm or compost bin as a source of carbon. Alternatively, you are able to recycle your box in your curb side recycling bin.

  • The card accompanying your order is made from Australian native seeded paper, You can soak your card in water until soft. Place card on seed raising mix (in pot or ground). Lightly cover with more mix, water and keep moist. Germination should take 7 - 21 days however is dependent on the paper remaining moist and soft until germination occurs.

  • All product and packaging materials support the Australian economy and also reduce transport emissions significantly.

  • You will notice that your product does not come in a product box, this is a deliberate choice to reduce the amount of unnecessary waste we generate.

  • Our office purchases 100% offsets energy use from renewable sources.

  • Our business chooses to support a bank that does not invest in fossil fuels.

  • Your orders are all shipped carbon neutral.

  • We conduct our business to be as digital as we can and avoid printing related to business operations as much as possible.

  • We support causes such as the global strike for climate / not business as usual.

Unfortunately your product labels are made from vinyl which does need to go in landfill. There is yet to be a waterproof, sustainable option for this - we hope and look forward to a time where this is available. Your labels however are printed with eco inks - making our labels as sustainable as they can be at this current time.

As new information and technologies come to light, we continue to adapt our products and processes to ensure that we are doing as much as we possibly can, we are not perfect however every small step helps.
